Goal Setting

This weak in class  David Tam was our subsitute while Tayah was in Portland with the upper class man.He talked to us about S.trength W.eakness O.pportunity T.hreat. He also  talked to us about separating our goals into Micro , Small, Medium and Long goals.  I learned a lot from this lecture and the way to go about reaching my goals learning there might always be a short cut or fast route to reaching your goals.

Micro Goals: Making the Deans list for the first time and getting into the business school.

Small Goals: Getting a good internship

Medium Goals: Graduating from college with little  debt.

Long Goals : Paying off loans from college, maybe moving onto graduate school most of all making enough money to live comfortably where my mother no longer has to work and money is not an option.

Strengths and weaknesses

A strength I would have to say I have found academically would have to be that I am very social. I dont really have a problem meeting people or feel embarrased asking for help, so when it comes to education  I find people who can help me in the the subject I am having trouble in. A weakness that I have is that sometimes I may use the wrong studying strategies in order to get prepareed for a final or midterm some classes it proves beneficial others it dosen’t.

Peer Leadership Styles

I responded to the leadership activity as being a planner. Lately or more this past week I have observed my friends leadership styles . My closest friends on the University of Oregon are my roommate Curtis and another friend J.J. . I learned that JJ is a builder and that he learns and leads most through helping others. I learned my roommate is a planner and that this is where we clash heads at times neither one of us are afraid to let our oppinions be heard even in some situations where our comments should be held back. I am very happy to have a close friend who is a builder that is also a good math student. Math is one of my weaaker subjects in school and as JJ’s strong point he can help me through these difficulties and is willing to help for the love of math  and to learn more for himself.
