Summary
Throughout April, the InTRO team was actively collaborating with other units in the development of new campus resources. We also established concrete plans for continuing our comparator research, and began to collate data for our upcoming annual report.
Highlights!
20 technology staff from across UO attended the first meeting of the UO Educational Technology Community of Practice this month! You can read Lindsey’s write-up here. Asynchronous discussion will continue over summer quarter via UO Blogs; a fall quarter event is in development.
We began or continued incubating a wide range of projects with the Office of Academic Affairs, Media Services, Information Services, and the Accessible Education Center, among other stakeholders. The conversations we are helping to shape across campus include the development of accessible multimedia, improving the onboarding of new faculty and administrative staff, and the implementation of campus-wide cloud computing resources.
After much effort, we got an informational postcard out to all UO faculty, and generated digital signage for the library’s 4Winds displays! We had a slight uptick in queries as a result.
Coming Up!
We’ve just put together an action plan for the second round of our comparator research project. We’ll hopefully be discussing best practices, the impetus for innovation, and organizational and funding models with staff from four different Midwestern institutions, all of whom have made significant strides from a starting point similar to UO’s. We’re looking forward to hearing the perspectives of our peers!
We’ll also be visiting our friends in Corvallis twice this month–once for the OUS online education meeting, and once for the upcoming ADEC EdFuture Symposium. We look forward to (re)connecting with our regional compatriots!
