Opportunity to be an RA!

Hi Peer Mentors!

I’m writing to let you know about a great opportunity! University Housing is now looking for Resident Assistants for 2018-19! I believe that it’s a great opportunity to get involved on campus AND to help shape the living and learning environment international students experience here at the University of Oregon. If you’re interested, please check out their website AND their jobs site.

I’m also including the position description (below) for your convenience:

RESIDENT ASSISTANT 2018-2019

Closes: January 12, 2018

Description: The Resident Assistant (RA) position is a part-time student leader who lives in the residence halls and assists Residence Life in developing residents as active and engaged learners and socially and civically responsible community members. RAs facilitate individual growth and the development of the larger learning community while educating students about self-care and risk reduction strategies. RAs play a critical role in ensuring that each residence hall community is conducive to learning. The RA works under the direction of the Community Director (CD) and/or Resident Assistant Coordinator (RAC).

The RA position offer students an excellent opportunity for professional growth that is both challenging and rewarding. This position requires exceptional time management skills and adaptability. Being a RA means always being a positive role model of the University of Oregon, both to the residents they live with and the entire UO community. In addition, the work of a RA can be both emotionally challenging and gratifying. University Housing offers a live-in professional staff team to provide residents and students with the support they need. While difficult at times, the RA position is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain transferable skills that apply to any profession.

Please make sure to pay attention to their deadlines!

Have a great day!

Best,
