Bieber under scrutiny

We’ve all got it. It begins with a body ache, then a cold, and the next thing you know you’ve contracted the Bieber Fever. But lately, Justin Bieber‘s reputation has been under scrutiny for numerous allegations. He’s been accused of egging his neighbors house and drag racing while intoxicated in Miami Beach. His blood alcohol level was pretty low at .04, although the standard for persons under the age of 21 is .02. He raced at 55-60 mph in a residential zone posted at 30 mph. When the cops stopped Bieber, he was hostile and uncooperative. “According to the police report, Bieber initially was not cooperative when the officer pulled him over, asking, ‘What the fuck did I do?’ ” The Buzz Feed article also states, “When the officer told Bieber he would have to perform a “cursory pat down,” the singer allegedly said, “I ain’t got no fucking weapons. Why do you have to search me? What the fuck is this about?” His attitude was immediately shut down as officers handcuffed Justin Bieber and sent him off to jail. After he was released from Turner Guiford Knight’s correctional institute, Bieber perched atop a black suburban, and waved to adoring fans. This was a good move for Bieber as it showed his loyalty to his fans despite his unfortunate arrest. However, some might argue Justin Bieber isn’t handling the situation seriously and needs to address his mistakes to his fans.

Along with the racing crisis, Justin Bieber faces the issue of deportation back to his hometown in Canada. Many U.S. citizens are banning together to sign a petition of at least 100,000 signatures voting to deport Justin. However, the process is extensive as they must get approval from president Obama. Due to his popularity, I doubt this will be any threat to the teenage heart throb.

aptopix-justin-bieber-arrest.jpeg-1280x960The crisis comes to no surprise as celebrities, especially those who are under 21 and rose to fame at a young age, are constantly brushing up against the law. However, what does seem to be a controversial matter is the fact that when celebrities are charged with a crime they are treated better than regular citizens. It seems like pop-stars are always thinking they’re above the law and can get away with more due to their fame and fortune. It doesn’t teach Justin Bieber about fairness and equal treatment when his judge moves up his court date because of his popularity. It would do Bieber good to have his manners and attitude reprimanded by a mentor or someone who has overcome the same behavioral issues. As far as addressing the issue himself, Justin Bieber needs to reevaluate his goals and realize his influence on his young-adoring fans in order to save his image as one of the world’s best pop icons.
