Reflection:
After I finish this assignment, I think that technology can change the culture in anytime in many different ways. In the article, “virtual reality art: beyond technology“, Michael writes that “How times change. Right before our eyes, this thing that we call the world has been irrevocably altered, along with the “reality” we have counted on. Virtual reality is so permeating our lives that one day soon we may find it impossible to distinguish the virtual from the real”. In my opinion, in the last 30 or 40 years, no one will believe what is happening now. For example, we can call or send the massages to anyone in anytime; we can move from China to America in 13 hours. These are the accomplishment of technology, as long as we accompany with technology, everything is possible in this world. In this article, Michael still mentions the New York artist John Simon, who creates his own software for non-immersive virtual realities, says “Each of my artworks is a small world that evolves and changes with its own rules, and these worlds are not based on real world physics, but rather on color theory, rhythmic motion and automatic composition.” John thinks art as different as we think about art. He thinks art can make some accomplishment not only in culture, but also in technology field.
I think art created with the aid of machine should be considered valid. In the same article I have mentioned before, Michael writes “Virtual reality affords incomparable access to light, space, sound, sensation, perception, visualization and disruption, all ingredients in contemporary art.” That is it, when sometimes people got some good ideas that they can hardly achieve, they can use the machines to help him achieve.
Future: I love technology so much. Technology makes my life easier, and faster. I will keep following the freshest technology in the world. It not only shows how creative people are, but also shows what kind of life they want to have aspect of the technology, because the technology is connected with our life after all.
