Welcome to the Hip Hop Jam!
The UO Hip Hop Jam started is a hip hop arts and music party thrown by 20 first-year students at the University of Oregon enrolled in the Hip Hop & the Politics of Race FIG, along with a student FIG assistant and faculty member. The event brings together students and community members with hip hop artists. It started in 2014 when faculty member Loren Kajikawa and FIG assistant Desmond Harvey decided to try and throw a jam with the students featuring DJs, beatmakers, emcees, bboys and bgirls and graffiti art. The grassroots event has grown over the years, and is now lead by UO faculty member Andre´Sirois aka DJ food stamp.
