Prior approval from the SOMD Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and relevant committee members is required to complete dissertations, theses, lecture-documents, recitals, comprehensive exams, language exams, final oral exams, or special projects during the summer term.

If summer is your final term of graduation, SOMD requires you to be registered for:

• 3 credits if using any faculty time or institutional resources after the first day of the term.
• 1 credit if the only use of institutional resources is working with the Division of Graduate Studies to upload the dissertation and file the required paperwork
