GEO Update: Barcelona Attack

A van plowed into a crowd of people near Las Ramblas, an area popular with tourists in Barcelona, Spain. At least 13 people were killed, and more than 100 were injured.

We have several students in Spain as of today, including a group in Barcelona and another in Oviedo.
At the time of this post, GEO has confirmed the safety of all Barcelona and Oviedo students.

Only one student traveling to Madrid remains unaccounted for. We will continue to reach out until we can confirm the student is safe.

All students on GEO programs in our European centers in Siena, Angers, and London, are safe and accounted for.

Our sympathies go to all those affected by this latest tragedy.

The Office of International Affairs and GEO will continue to monitor and share information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 2:27 PM PAC TIME
