Lyle Murphy is a Nutmeg State transplant working in Oregon as an artist and Exhibits Developer for the Oregon Folklife Network and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts at the Massachusetts College of Art and Master degrees in Sculpture and Folklore at the University of Oregon. Lyle has a wide skill set that has aided him in creating exhibits in galleries, museums, and unconventional settings for over 10 years. Lyle began working within the exhibitions department for the Museum of Natural and Cultural History in September of 2012, and joined the Oregon Folklife Network in March 2013. Since joining the OFN he has been doing fieldwork with Native Americans in Oregon, creating exhibits, presenting traditional artists for Arts in the Parks, and working on digital media such as logos and the OFN website. Lead exhibits design on Oregon Folklife Network: Rooted in Tradition in 2013. As a graduate student, lead exhibits design on Hooks, Yarns & Bars in 2011. He is passionate about culture, artistic expression, and especially pie.
