Growing up in Orange County I have never been exposed to growing and eating organic fresh foods. My parents always taught me to eat my fruits and vegetables and to keep a colorful plate because it was good for you but I did not know about how organic food is so much healthier for you. This class has especially inspired me to create my own garden at home and grow my own fruits and vegetables. One of the most interesting things I learned from the presentations is that corn is in almost every food now. I had no idea about this and heard it mentioned many times throughout the presentations. In addition, I found that eating the right fruits and vegetables when they are in season is very important and I am going to pay more attention to that so I am not eating artificially grown foods. When creating a dinner for my friends I never thought of all the things that I need to think about like where people should sit. I usually just have people sit down but now it makes a lot more sense to carefully place people to resolve the arguments that go on at the table. In conclusion, the main thing I have learned throughout the presentation is that I need to start eating a more balanced meal that has fresh grown foods that are not processed or artificially grown.
