> Mentor Training

We value the generosity, advocacy, and professional expertise of each cooperating professional and work to support you through orientation, training, and university supervisor support. While our programs offer training, we also want to make you aware of one of our partners, the Oregon Preservice Education Network (OPEN) 2024-25 trainings.  This group is made up of members of the ODE mentor teacher program, multiple school districts, higher education institutions and TSPC, and together they collaborated to create and facilitate coaching/mentoring skill building trainings. As a participating partner, we invite new and returning mentors to register for one of OPEN’s virtual training sessions.

Each orientation training is collaboratively facilitated by member K-12 district representatives and university EPP partners, sharing helpful ideas for welcoming your candidates and supporting them in becoming the best educators as possible for our K-12 students. Trainings are designed to provide Cooperating Educators with well-grounded tools and tips for mentoring their future educators with a culturally responsive lens.
