The UO College of Education (COE) is looking for educational professionals to host educational foundations, special education, and/or family and human services undergraduate field study interns. These field study experiences allow university undergraduate students the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple settings, working with a variety of populations, while providing host with extra volunteer support.
- Education Foundations (Elementary & Secondary) EDF Hosts
- Family Human Services FHS Hosts
- Special Education SPED Hosts
If you are interested in hosting one or multiple interns, and have not already signed up for the 2023/24 school year, submit your interest request here:

The College of Education provides enrolled field study students with a curated list of host sites to pick from for during their term registration. Site hosts contact information is not shared with the student until your site is selected. The student will then be instructed to send an introductory email to their selected host and start the on-boarding process. Hosts are welcome to set up a “next step conversation” with the student to ensure it is a good fit.
Once field study students complete partner organization volunteer clearance and on-boarding processes, they are …
- Ready and eager for the hands-on experiences that will help them apply academic studies to community and educational services.
- Able to provide level appropriate activities including:
- working with individual or small groups enrichment activities (e.g tutoring, academics, physical education, arts & music education, nature exploration, STEM, and more).
- serving in support roles in education settings or working with individuals in a community settings.
- providing strategic program or agency level supports
- Co-enrolled in a faculty supported field studies course
Note: Field study students need to be supervised and may not interact with students or clients alone. This includes, but is not limited to, transport of student/clients, home visits, and being alone with clients at the field site. Students should be in easy reach of a host teacher / supervisor or staff at all times.
We look forward to connecting you with an aspiring student educator.
