As an emerging leader, community arts programmer, activist and arts advocate, my mission is provide a voice to others by facilitating opportunities for creative engagement. I believe in access, participation, grassroots collaboration, sustainability and dialogue. To me, community arts means that the community comes first; art is made by the community; community collaborations are foundational; art is supported by the community; and finally, that art builds community. If a community is one that is connected, then arts can be the catalyst. This is why the arts community is open to all.
