Hi everyone! First, your energy and recording style all together is super fun, overall super fun already! Though I haven’t seen the film, I’m really interested in it now due to your aesthetic analysis. I love the concept of the Sci-FI genre with film noir aesthetic influences!
You guys seemed to have especially good chemistry as a group. Your podcast came out great, and the points you made about the larger messages of the film seemed very informed. From what I gathered it’s a sci-fi movie about overpopulation and overconsumption, which is especially interested to watch now that we’re so close to the year the movie is set in: 2022. And I do agree that Dr. Doolittle never had a chance to be successful.
The political analysis you include around the 8 minute mark is interesting to hear, as well as Hestons political involvement. Best energy of a podcast I’ve listened to so far.
I really enjoyed how you talked about everything leading up to this film being the history of sci-fi films going from destination moon to planet of the apes and then later star wars etc, it was really nice to pair all these to Soylent Green in the reality of our world, not just in space. I’ve heard of Soylent Green before but I wouldn’t personally put them on the same space as all the others that were mentioned; but I might have to watch it now.
Hey guys! I really enjoyed the podcast, I thought that you guys had a good show of being natural throughout the conversations – Great chemistry! I found it to be really fun the way you guys were all learning things off each other about each section of the movie. I really liked the reference about how wealth is represented through the sound while poverty is represented through the mis-en-scene. Great podcast guys!
It’s funny because my parents tried forcing Dr. Dolittle on me when I was a kid but I was never a fan of it. I really enjoyed your historical analysis of sci-fi films and how much they have evolved over the years and what aesthetics have changed or remained the same.
Hi guys,
Your podcasting sound so fluence and comfortable. How you guys divide your jobs are so great. Also, thanks for the info of the actor Charlton Heston, its a sufficient research biography.
Awesome podcast! I loved how you included a deeper look into the representation of wealth within the film. The podcast flowed really well and it made me want to see the movie!
I really enjoyed listening to your podcast! The conversation flowed really well and I enjoyed the little tangents about Dr. Doolittle. I also liked how everyone was able to provide their own insights to each section.
