Born in Silverton, Oregon, Hanzel Lopez-Peralta moved to Mexico with his family at the age of 10. Once violence in his home state of Guerrero, Mexico, began to hinder his studies, he decided that finishing his senior year of high school and college education in the United States was the best thing he could do to invest in a bright future.
