Emily Gonzalez

Born and raised in the Bay Area of California, I am the daughter of immigrants from Jalisco, Mexíco. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the University of Oregon as a first generation college student. As I continue my education, I’ve found one goal of mine has resurfaced and become somewhat of a guiding light when I feel lost: to learn as much about the world around me and myself as possible. In my two years living in Eugene, Oregon, I have learned much more about my culture, passions, and creativity than I could have imagined. I’m looking forward to continuing this path of discovery with the guidance of the dedicated professors of the UO SOJC and support of my family and peers.
