The University of Oregon Economics Club takes immense pride in its annual tradition of selecting an executive board through democratic elections. This dedicated board plays a vital role in serving the economics student body and acts as a bridge between students and professors. They are entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the club’s day-to-day operations and meticulously planning and budgeting for events throughout the academic year.

 

President: Jaeden Jude Noronha

Jaeden, a senior at our university, is pursuing a double major in Economics and Political Science. His academic focus centers on Industrial Organization and the Economics of International Finance, reflecting his deep interest in the complexities of global economic systems. Jaeden brings a unique perspective to the table, having lived in India, Singapore, and the USA, which enriches the diversity of our community.

Jaeden’s passion lies in the Solow growth model, an area he thoroughly enjoys exploring due to its concept of convergence to the steady state. Beyond the classroom, Jaeden actively contributes to campus life. He serves as the Treasurer of the Undergraduate Law Association and has gained valuable experience as a finance intern at the International Student Association. He currently serves on the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Student Advisory Board.

Post-graduation, Jaeden hopes to further his academic journey through attending graduate school for economics. Following his economics studies, he aspires to attend law school, specializing in corporate law. Jaeden’s dedication and diverse interests make him a valuable member of our academic community.

Director of Marketing: Nicolas Rodriguez

Nicolas, a current senior at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business, is actively pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Economics. The tools acquired through the University’s curriculum are equipping him for the establishment of his own business in the automotive industry back in the Bay Area. Possessing a distinct interest in the realms of behavioral economics and game theory, Nicolas aims to leverage this expertise in shaping future business decisions. He is an enthusiastic car aficionado known for his unwavering work ethic and a penchant for meaningful interactions with others, all in pursuit of utilizing his knowledge to create something remarkable.

 

 

 

 

 

Director of Finance: Reece Blagdon

Reece is a current Graduate student at the University of Oregon, having completed his Bachelors degree in Economics (Honors) and Psychology with an Ethics minor in June 2023. After participating in the Accelerated Masters Program for Economics, he continues his education at UO and is pursuing a double-Master’s in Economics and Finance.

Areas of interest for Reece include economic bubbles, recessions, and depressions. Besides Reece’s education and interests, he works on campus at ASUO Finance as a Financial Services Teammate wherein he manages the transactions and budgets of over 200+ clubs on campus. Reece anticipates working as a risk analyst at a large corporation or bank in the near future.
