My name is Emily Austinson. I was born and raised an Oregonian but I plan to explore and try new places in my future. I am senior at the University of Oregon, majoring in advertising and hope this major will lead me to new places. I want to use my degree to help company’s better brand themselves and grow positively in communities.

In my free time I love playing fetch with my seven month old, adopted, fur baby named Harley. I believe my involvement in adopting Harley led me to pick my issue topic for gateway. I was not aware of how crucial it is to adopt animals until I did research on animal over population in the state of Oregon.
