The arts and culture of downtown Eugene have been on a huge upswing lately. There are more shops that are coming each year, along with becoming a hotspot for new artists. Below are some of the most attractive Arts and Cultures Eugene has to offer.

Lane County Farmer’s Market- Today, the Market is comprised of nearly 80 growers and producers creating a vibrant and friendly place to shop. Find fresh and locally grown items including: meat, seafood, jams, jellies, canned foods, flours, grains, beans, salad greens and vegetables, and seasonally available items.

WOW Hall- WOW stands for “Woodmen of the World.” This center for performing arts hosts many musicians in a simple and honest venue. Anyone can participate in the educational opportunities provided at the WOW Hall – classes, workshops and round-table debates. WOW Hall is a place to experience diversity and culture in downtown Eugene. Located on 291 W. 8th Avenue.

The Shedd- Located in downtown Eugene, the John G. She’d Institute for The Arts is a resident company of the Hult Center, a performing arts company, cultural arts center, and community music school. Located on 868 High Street.

McDonald Theater- A performing arts venue with a history of stage and screen performances since 1925. The building has a snack bar, two separate bar locations, and a comfortable concert atmosphere. For the most part, events are diverse and range from unique and creative local fundraising events to mainstream performances. Located on 1010 Willamette Street.

Night Life

The Eugene Night Life has a vast amount of culture that can be experienced through events like variety shows, live music and stand-up comedy hosted by 21-and-over bars. The best part is all the places are in walking distance of each other. Here are some of the best night life places to hit up:

Jamesons’s Bar and Lounge- A neo-retro lounge with martini specials during happy hour. Enjoy free billiard games in a modern, relaxed atmosphere. Located on 115 West Broadway.

The Davis- Restaurant by day, dance club by night. The Davis has an upscale lounge appeal that draws a crowd on Thursday nights with drink specials for the ladies. Dance to old school hip hop beats on the weekends. Located on 94 West Broadway.

The Rok- This place has the largest dance floor out there, big screens, and no cover charge for the ladies! Electronic, hip-hop and Top 40 with light shows and a fantastic atmosphere. Located on 44 East 7th Avenue.

Eugene is a bicycle friendly town with ample bike parking and lighted bike paths which make this form of transportation quick and hassle free.

Ride the Bus

Lane Transit District offers a number of public transportation options that make downtown Eugene a convenient portal for commuting to school, work, special events, Autzen Stadium and Matthew Knight Arena.

Use a Car

With parking garages located a short walk away from just about anywhere downtown, transportation becomes a breeze.

Downtown is home to scores of local, family-owned businesses that provide a strongsense of community. Consumers who visit downtown enjoy an easy, walkable commute. There are numerous options to be explored, ranging from food carts at the corner of Broadway & Willamette to locally sourced pub-style food and gourmet cuisine.

Kun Fusion Food Truck – One of the many stands located on the streets of Eugene. Open practically all hours of the night these carts are a great alternative whether it be 2 o’clock in the afternoon or 2 o’clock at night; not to mention the food being sold is as good as any.   When its not being rolled around you can find the guys at the kun fusion truck on the corner of Willamette and Broadway.

Hutch’s Bicycle – Whether your looking to buy or just rent a bike, look no further. It’s great service is what has made this bike store so prolific in the downtown Eugene area. If nothing else stop by and say hi to the hard working staff at Hutch’s Bicycle located at 960 Charnelton St.

M Jacobs Fine Furniture – One of the many home and furniture shops, M Jacobs is one of the best to date. With various types of furniture available for all prices, finding what you need is practically guaranteed.
