At the Cornbread Cafe not only all of the food is vegan, but also almost all of the staff is vegan as well. The Cafe was created with the intent to serve delicious vegan Southern Comfort food, as well as employ vegan cooks, who might otherwise have a hard time finding work that fit their lifestyle choices.
Chef Lucas of the Cornbread Café reaches to put a ready plate out. The chef works in the kitchen in the back of the restaurant, which is a much larger space than the original food truck that the restaurant started out as.
Chef Lucas reads a new order slip to see what to start making. All of the dishes served in the Cornbread Café are entirely vegan, which means none of the dishes contain any animal products.
Chef John starts to pour out the batter for a pancake. The café offers a plethora of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
After plating a pancake Chef John prepares to put it through the service window to be served to a customer. The café is a southern-styled restaurant, with vegan substitutes for classics southern dishes, such as chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles at the café replaces the chicken with breaded and deep-fried seitan.
Chef John and Chef Lucas laugh and joke as they prepare dishes. Many of the employees at the café are vegans themselves, including Chef Lucas.
