Prototype and feedback week

This last week was focused on creating a prototype and looking/thinking about the feedback we got to our first proposal and the changes we have to make. We created a stamp book for our prototype with several rewards for each level of stamps between four, eight, and twelve. Even though it was not very realistic, the process of creating something practical helped us and was a good experience. We gained some information by looking at the comments and answers of the two people that tested our prototype. We also got our score and feedback for the first proposal draft this week. Everybody was a little irritated about the score of 19/30 when we saw it because we put a lot of work in it. On the other side, we realized that there were also good parts in our proposal when we looked at the comments. It motivated us to look deeply into the parts that we need to change.

We got a lot of information this week about the prototype, resume, cover letter, and the proposal. I did a good job by focusing on our proposal and prototype tasks, and by making sure that everybody knew what the plan was for the next class and our next meeting. I did this by making a list of things that we need to add or change, proposing to split those tasks up with everybody, and asking the question “Does everybody know exactly what you need to do for our next meeting?” I set the goals for the beginning of our next meeting and what we want to achieve during our meeting as well, so I think that I did a very good job this week for my action plan.

I was very tired during class on Tuesday, so it was a challenge for me to stay positive and talk a lot in our conversations. I initiated to write the small exercise down that we had to do for the cover letter workshop. The same person in our group often writes things down, so two/three people were surprised that I wanted to do it, and they liked my initiative. I got my energy back by doing that exercise and it showed me that people often will like it when I take initiative or do something different than normal. I also tried to be more challenging when we talked about our proposal and I asked some more questions, but I did not ask my teammates yet if they perceived it as more challenging as well.
