Doctoral Research Awards Application
The College of Education provides up to $3,000 in funding for students with doctoral research projects. Projects need to be approved by students’ dissertation committees.
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
DEADLINE: Rolling due date until April 4, 2025. Awards will be granted based on the letter of support from the COE Dissertation Chair and the appropriateness of the budget. Research awards are intended to directly support dissertation research. A typical award ranges from $500–$3,000, depending on research needs, funds available, and eligibility based on award criteria.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all COE students who
- Have a dissertation proposal that has been approved by their dissertation committee.
- Are currently enrolled and in good standing.
- Are applying to fund costs directly related to dissertation research.
Expenses not eligible for funding include travel to conferences, thank-you gifts, or dissemination costs. Incentives, a reward given to research subjects, can be considered for funding. Thank you gifts, defined as acknowledging those who assisted with the study but were not themselves subjects, are not eligible. Submit the completed application with the items below:
- Line item budget.
- Descriptive budget narrative detailing the proposed expenses and timeline.
- Letter of support from Dissertation Committee Chair or COE Dissertation Committee Member, indicating approval of project. Letter of support must include a statement on the appropriateness of the budget.
- Copy of the Dissertation Proposal Approval form, with all signatures.
