College of Education (COE) Doctoral Student Conference Awards of up to $750 for in-person conferences and up to $100 for virtual conferences are available for COE doctoral students to fund attendance to professional conferences in the Winter/Spring of 2024.  Awards will be given for conference attendance that occurs between January 1 – June 30, 2024.  This is a competitive process as limited funds are available and only a select number of applications will receive funding.  This application should take you less than 20 minutes to complete.

Applications will be accepted February 19 – March 4, 2024  for conferences held between January 1 – June 30, 2024.  You may receive an award for a conference you’ve participated in as long as it takes place between January 1 – June 30, 2024.  If the conference has already taken place the funds will be provided to you retroactively.

*Applications for conferences taking place next Fall (Jul 1 – Dec 31, 2024) will not be accepted until next academic year.  Please do not submit applications for conferences that take place in that time window until the Fall application process opens sometime in October 2024.

Eligibility: Doctoral students enrolled in any College of Education doctoral program are eligible to apply. Students must provide official confirmation of registration to the conference.  Priority may be given to students who are presenting. If you are applying for more than one conference, you must submit a separate application for each one.

Application Procedure:  A complete application packet will include:

• An approval form signed by both you and your faculty advisor:  College-of-Education-Travel-App-Approval-Form
• Supplemental materials. In addition to your application and approval materials, please include a copy of your completed registration for attendance or acceptance of the paper/poster for conference presentation (e.g. an email from the conference organizer, a printed program with your name and presentation listed or a letter of acceptance).

Application Deadline: The application deadline for the Spring 2024 COE Doctoral Conference Award is March 4, by 5:00 p.m. Attachments can be submitted to Lisa Fortin via email (attach all documents in one email) to lfortin@uoregon.edu or attached in the online form.  Incomplete packets will not be considered. 

Review of Applications: Applicants will be notified of award status by March 20, 2024.  Any funds awarded will be deposited into the student’s UO account.  It may take several weeks to process the deposit and if you are receiving federal Financial Aid, this award may affect your financial aid eligibility.
