Introducing the Team

My name is Hana, and my role in this project is to design this website and help my groupmates assist in teaching kids our coding slime curriculum. I am currently a Junior who is majoring in Education with hopes of becoming a teacher. I have been working with kids since middle school through volunteering at YMCA, being an assistant karate instructor, to being a camp instructor teaching activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, and biking! Some of my hobbies include playing lacrosse and going out to eat new and yummy foods.

Hi, my name is Timberly. I am the creator of all the supplies available and the official slime tester. I am a junior in the U of O Education Foundations program and currently working on a Special Education minor. I have been working in classrooms for the past two years that range from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. Last year, along with helping teachers, I wrote a book with the help of my Kinder and 5th grade classrooms. Then was able to teach my 5th graders how to write their own book. I am a lover of the arts, the messier the better.

Hello, I’m Nikole Anderson, a Junior Education Foundations major at the University of Oregon, and a proud member of Code Name Slime Team. My role in our coding operation is to create a series of slime simulations that kick start our lessons. When I am not playing with scratch code or slime I am working at a daycare, in which I get to see learning and development across a wide range from infants to 5th graders. I also volunteer once a year at an outdoor school where I mentor a set of 5th-grade students for a week along with teaching field study curriculum in interactive and exciting ways. At the daycare where I teach my students, they love slime but I am not a huge fan. I think that Code Name Slime is a great example of how a teacher’s worst enemy and a student’s favorite project can work together in harmony, learning and appreciated well-coded mess.
