The Deconstructing Whiteness Working Group formed in January 2019 as a Strategies Group under the Division of Equity and Inclusion, originally called the Coalition For Allyship and Engagement.  We are a volunteer-driven group of staff, faculty and students interested in promoting allyship across campus.

MISSION:

The mission of the Deconstructing Whiteness Working Group is to create, support and amplify  on campus efforts to educate those who through their identities benefit from privilege, and help community members explore what roles they can play in addressing oppressive systems. The DWWG will support the work of other campus entities by promoting dialogue about engaged allyship and whiteness, in pursuit of building a network of more informed and active allies at the University of Oregon and beyond.

VISION:

The Deconstructing Whiteness Working Group strives to create a campus community where members can engage in lifelong learning and action inspired toward anti-racism, through collaborative programming, research, and promotion of campus allyship work.

MEETING TIMES:

First Wednesday of the month, 11AM to 12PM, Carson Ramey Room.
