ELP CAT

We are the Environmental Leadership Program Climate Action Team (ELP CAT). Our goal was to create an outreach program utilizing a social media campaign and tabling opportunities to successfully engage local citizens ages 16-24 in implementing everyday actions to mitigate climate change. We tracked our success by counting our interactions both online and during tabling events. We hope that our campaign encouraged cost-effective climate actions and that our findings will be helpful to the City of Eugene in developing their own framework to engage with this demographic.

We are eight junior and senior Environmental Studies and Science majors at the University of Oregon. Our academic interests include environmental policy, climate change science, and community outreach. We were brought together by the Environmental Leadership Program, in an interdisciplinary service-learning program, under the Environmental Studies Program.
