In the Moment

The University of Oregon holds an annual Drag Show in the Erb Memorial Union on campus where students and people in the community alike can watch drag king and queens from around the state of Oregon perform.  This event being on campus shows the university’s support for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allows them to display who they are inside and express themselves without the fear of judgement.

Located at the Erb Memorial Union at the University of Oregon campus, people throughout the LGBTQA community came out to perform in the annual Gays In Space Drag Show. This is a place where people accept the performers for who they are and are acknowledged for their talents.

Facisha Farce is moments away from hosting the show. After her final touch ups on her makeup, she is finally ready to hit the stage.

Along with hosting, Facisha Farce takes the stage to perform “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” by Bonnie Tyler. She brings comedic elements to her performance, but takes a dramatic pause to keep the audience captivated.

Hair and makeup are the two most essential aspects in drag shows. This performer took almost 4 hours braiding and coloring their hair for the show.
