New ways that I am thinking like an artist aren’t really coming to me honestly. I have a set way I know how to do what I can do to achieve the artist result I want and do not need to change anything I am doing. The closest thing I can think of to thinking in new ways artistically is the way I’ve been able to create depth maps for my creative display. Originally I was hoping I could create these depth maps of my models via my go to program Blender, but after discovering that I was unable to achieve the results needed to actually create my display I was in a bind. I no longer had any reliable way to create what I needed to actually make the display I was thinking about all along. SO I had to resort to any other method I could find on the internet, and after hours of searching I managed to a really basic program that had a depth map light shader that i could place over my models. I effectively solved what was critical fault in my plans for the display by branching out to another program.
While Ondrizek’s work was incredibly interesting to listen and discuss in class, I don’t feel as if I am able to apply the issues she talked about into my work.
