This blog introduced that women dominate the U.S. social media usage. For overall internet usage, about 85% men report using the internet and this data is higher than women (84%). However, there are 74% women report using social media and just 70% men report the social media use. Whatever in Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram, the using percentage of women is higher than men. In addition, the author pointed out that the development speed of social media is extremely high.

In China, the situation of using social media is similar with United States. Women are more willing to use social media than men. I am a girl and I really like to use social media, like Wecht and Facebook. I use them in anywhere and anytime. Maybe the reason is women are more likely to feel boring.
