Stay Aware

Have you ever been up on that late night email reply session and ran across a peculiar email from a family member? I’m sure we all have been perplexed as to why they didn’t call us to ask for $1500 to bail them out of some country, or pay for some great cause. Then maybe you were confused even more why they wanted the money wired to this strange location instead of your bank account.

There is a good chance, my colleagues, that this email is a phishing attempt to try to have some stranger make money off of your disarray.

Make sure to question strange emails like this, and take time to contact the email sender outside of that email (preferably in person) to see if it was an email they sent, and save yourself from a malicious attack on your finances.
