Update on Structure & Sustainability

This is an update on the changes of my structure and sustainability designs.  The structure is basically setup so that the steel web joist are able to span 40′ and the horizontal column grid is 16′ apart from one another.  I have also included an enclosures wall section of what I imagine the market wall to be.  The image from the right is from the Olympic Mills Commerce Center, located in Portland Oregon and the reason why I like it so much is because of the visual connection from one side to the other.  I have been asked about its thermal capabilities and because it is a public market, there is no need to thermally insulate it.  Another change I have made is to the seasonal water irrigation system.  Originally I designed it so that the water that might filter through the vegetation would return to the cistern.  Now taking into account that the amount of water that may be returning is very small, the cyclic process that once was is now gone.
