Distinguished from the other metropolitans in the United States, Eugene is less “contaminated” by commercial cultures and enforcements. The issue Local Entertainment involves various perspectives and captures of personal stories from performers, customers, and practitioners of the entertainment industries in Eugene, Oregon. With the Willamette River embedded in the city, Eugene preserves its earthly conventions, such as Saturday Market, County Fair, and Whiteaker Block Party. According to Robert Wood, the founder of the Eugene Juggling Club, the Saturday Market in Eugene is the longest running Saturday Market in the United States, and it is getting bigger as a great local assembly for entertainers and local artists. With more new visitors from all over the world flowing into Eugene, Betty considers the project is considered as a guidance introducing some entertainment spotlights in local media outlets and tourism resources.
