For our final project we decided to dedicate it to the theme of our group name: outcasts. We thought the best way to do this was to combine clips from various movies exploring the theme of “outcasts” into remix videos with songs that went along with the theme. We chose this project because the idea of outcasts being highlighted and celebrated was made popular by classic Hollywood films. Our three group members have relatively different music tastes so we each decided to pick songs that represented what we bring to the group creatively. Jade chose to use the song “The Adults are Talking” by The Strokes along with movie clips from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Moonrise Kingdom, Blade Runner, and Heathers. Emma picked the song “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins along with movie clips from both the original Footloose movie and the 2011 Footloose movie remake. Sarah decided to use clips from Edward Scissorhands and Outcasts along with the song “Outcast” by NF.
