Brian McKay-Lyons

Fitting, Framing, and Forming.  These are Brain McKay-Lyons’ Three F’s for an Architecture of Regionalism.  These three words, potencially less eloquently speak of the same thought behind Rick Joy’s work and most of the other regionalists we have read of.  But for the culture of Nova Scotia, one Lyons marks as honest, tough, and simple, this statement of Three F’s is proper.  It comes right out to say what he will do and how.  It does not polish the need for a regionalist response in philosophical stratum, it is a statement, which is worn and weathered.  It is also fitting that McKay-Lyons leads a design-build practice and teaching.  The Ghosts would be a great experience for someone who believes in regionalism, such as myself.
