Comment on Tina’s post about Norberg-Schulz
I wanted to comment on Tina’s post because I thought it was stated quite well.
Like Heidegger, Christian Norberg-Schulz returns to the root of meaning: language. He takes it one step further by relating architecture to poetry, which uses language as a structure to form a feeling or new world. In a similar way, architects use objects to create something entirely new. I appreciated how he broke down the identity of a place using “character” “space” “spirit” ect. This is really helping me think of my own projects in an abstract way.
