First Assignment

This photo perfectly describes my unique, natural leadership style. Why? Because when I am asked to do a task, I reflect on all the information given to me. I am not the type of person to just put my foot out the door and try to get it done. I observe what others are doing. I like to make sure that my outcome is perfect. By looking over everything I am given, I am able to take the time and think of many different strategies to complete the task. For example, when we were given the task to figure out how many stairs are in the Lillis Business Complex, I didn’t run around, and automatically count all the steps. I stopped to think about how I was going to start this task. Once I found a group of people who were doing exactly what I was doing, I began to think about how I was going to proceed in completing this task. I began to collect information from others. This relates to the first picture. If I were given a book, I would first read every single page, making sure that I knew what I was doing, that I wouldn’t miss an important piece of information. Now, in the second picture, this would be me having all the information, and me thinking that I would know exactly what do to…Except as I slowly close the book thinking I knew what to do, I don’t. I keep it half way open as I over analyze what I think may be the answer. Although my natural leadership style is one I absolutely think is helpful to me, it can also have a negative side to it. Sometimes I get too caught up in perfecting things which makes it harder for me to actually succeed, and complete my task. An example is this: I’m in class and my teacher asks a question. I know the answer after I’ve consider my facts, however I begin to contemplate whether or not my answer is correct. By the time I get to raising my hand to answer the question, someone has already answered it, and indeed it is the answer I had in mind. This now brings me to the third picture. Even through all of the over analyzing, I can still somehow manage to find away to present my work, however it is through others that my work is presented. After the activity we did last Friday, I realized that I have always approached a task in the way that I did, however never knew that there was an actual name or others who approached things exactly the way I did. Overall, closers reflect on given information and facts. They can sometimes over think what they have come up with, but only because they want to present information in a perfect manner. We still get our work done, and make sure that it’s got no rough edges.
