Audio Presentation

The studio 360 video presentation examines the creation of a video game that uses microbes, single celled organisms to control the characters in the game. In this game, the inventor Ingmar Riedel-Kruse, a professor at Stanford University uses pacman for inspiration. In order to make the characters move you apply an electric shock to the the organisms in order to maneuver them in a certain direction, these actions are then transmitted to a computer screen. This was a major shock for me to see that this type of technology has been invented where you use actual living organisms to control the movement of characters. Although I know that we have progressed technologically, this is something I have never heard of. Although I don’t understand the exact purpose of this type of invention, I do think it has the potential to be something extremely useful in education and learning.
