In a constantly changing media landscape, it’s more important than ever that public relations professionals stay on top of their game. Reading expert blogs is a smart way to expand your skill set, keep up to date on the latest PR happenings, find new ways of thinking and get inspired to produce your best work.

The PR industry is largely dominated by women; nevertheless, their voices are often undervalued in senior positions. We need to amplify female voices in the industry. One way we can do this is by supporting the editorial space in which they are currently operating.

Here are five public relations blogs written by women, for women.

Girls in Work

Girls in Work is an online community and resource—founded by career women, for career women. Their aim is to break past the barriers career women continue to face through articles, interviews, events, workshops, talks, mentoring, the podcast and weekly conversations on Clubhouse. Their founder and director Sophie Princeton created Girls in Work to create a community for career driven women; with the overall mission is to empower and motivate women to be ambitious, confident and successful at work.

The Girls in Work blog consists of expert career advice, interviews, and think pieces to inspire you to be your best self in the workplace. They feature a series called “Women In The Spotlight”, where they share the stories of influential women throughout Black history and discussions with women sharing their career story.

There’s also a Girls in Work Podcast, brought to you by the team behind Girls in Work to share interviews and advice for career women everywhere. Girls in Work also created a special 4-part mini series called Sexism in the City. This mini series highlights and discusses the sexism and challenges that women still face in the workplace every day, from sexual harassment in the workplace to the gender pay gap.
