With the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day back-to-back, there is no shortage of notable PR campaigns circulating this month. Researching well-executed campaigns is a good way to inform future marketing efforts and inspire new tactics. Here are a few campaigns we fell in love with this February!

  • GirlBossTown X Super Bowl

Tik Tok fan-favorite, GirlBossTown, kicked off the month of February with recommendations for Tom Brady’s PR team on how they could tell his retirement story as a Super Bowl commercial. The PR queen didn’t stop with the G.O.A.T., though. After emphasizing that the Super Bowl is “all about the commercials,” she went on to imagine commercials for Uber, Airbnb, Mcdonalds and Gatorade. GirlBossTown asked her followers to suggest brands to make advertisements for and turned the Super Bowl into a creative opportunity that landed her a ticket to the game.

  • PepsiCo’s Road Trip to the Super Bowl

PepsiCo teamed up with Frito-Lay for a joint campaign to bring smiles to fans on their SuperBowl road trip. ‘Road to Super Bowl LVI’ kicked off during the NFL Playoffs with a two-minute commercial that highlighted NFL greats like Jerome Bettis, Victor Cruz, Terry Bradshaw, and  brothers Peyton and Eli Manning on the road to the Super Bowl. The ad will showcase  Golden Grounds, a new limited-edition chip grown from NFL soil. The Frito-Lay and PepsiCo Foundation is also working with GENYOU to increase food access for low-income residents in LA. The game-day excitement continues in-store with NFL-themed packaging

  • Ball Corporation Brings Aluminum Cups to the Super Bowl

Ball Corporation and Anheuser-Busch, the brewer of Bud Light, will partner for the Super Bowl to serve drinks in recyclable aluminum cups. The cups will include Bud Light and Super Bowl graphics. This campaign is a part of Ball’s strategy for promoting sustainability at sport and entertainment venues. The Super Bowl is a great opportunity to get the product in front of a bigger audience while at the same time encouraging fans to be conscious of their environmental impact. “Team Aluminum” will be collecting used cups at the game too, making it even easier to recycle!

  • A Love Story Presented by Gucci

This year Gucci partnered with visual artist Ariana Papademetropoulos to produce a limited-edition fantasy zine: A Love Story Presented by Gucci. The zine, reminiscent of a 60s graphic novel, tells the story of a captured fairy searching for love and incorporates visuals of Gucci’s Valentine’s Day 2022 collection. It’s a unique and memorable way to tie in their Valentine’s theme collection with a flash of entertainment.

  • Cadbury’s Valentine’s Day Albibi

Cadbury 5 star created the anti-Valentine’s Day “perfect alibi” campaign and contest, where customers can scan a special edition 5-star candy bar for a chance to win a romance-free vacation on a private island. Cadbury even renamed the island “My Cousin’s Wedding” so that winners have an honest alibi the next time someone asks them about their plans for the holiday.

  • Words of Encouragement from Sweethearts Candies

We’re a “BIG FAN” of Sweethearts Candies’ 2022 theme, “Words of Encouragement.” Free boxes for Valentine’s Day were sent to 500 people, nominated by family and friends, to thank them. With this campaign, one of Valentine’s Day’s signature candies shows that non-romantic relationships should be loved and recognized too.
