Up Close & Personal: Meet Aimee Griswold
Aimee Griswold is a Pacific Northwest native who is passionate about many things in life. The essence of her hometown, Portland, OR, courses through her veins. Aimee Griswold is as laid back as the city she hails from. She is also a hiking enthusiast, and coffee addict. From a young age, Aimee expressed her interest in the arts; doing activities that ranged from starring in two school plays, to painting, to shadowing her father (who is a photographer) on the job. In high school, she taught herself how to play the guitar and became captain of the cheer team. Over the course of her life, she’s learned three languages aside from English, which include: Spanish, German, and American Sign Language.
Although she has a wide range of interests, Aimee discovered her passion for public relations and cinema studies to be the strongest. This term, Aimee juggled the responsibilities of producing, writing, and directing a creative show for Duck TV as well as being a returning member to the PR events team. Her show Peaked won a Force Award (an award for creative excellence and best show aired that week). She also won the award of outstanding crew member for her work on the PR events team.
Aimee is interested in working for OPB’s Oregon Field Guide in the future. However, she is also interested in blogging, making YouTube videos, reviewing food and restaurants, traveling, and much more. Because of this, she has an open mind in order to keep from limiting any future possibilities.
Aimee thrives under a full work load so long as it challenges her to become better, and enables her to express herself in a creative way. She is currently a junior at the University of Oregon, and is majoring in Public Relations and Cinema Studies.
