The client and agency bridge, strategy, and creative connectors:
Sophie Baltzer (Account Manager & Social Media Strategist)
I consider myself a bit of a wanderlust, I have no idea where I’m going I just know that I want to see it all and leave my mark along the way. Uncomfortable with following the norm, I strive to make my own path and create connections with the world around me. I love talking with people, perhaps too much but also pride myself in being a great listener and understanding the needs of others.
Kathleen Benner (Account Manager & Strategist)
I have many passions and am involved in many activities but what I love most is seeing how they all fit together. I spent my freshman year of college at a small liberal arts school in Manhattan as a musical theatre major. My studies were drastically different from what what I’m doing here in the SOJC. But in the most important way, they’re the same. Theatre, after all, is a form of communication. It connects an audience to a story.
I have only just begun to call myself an “Account Manager,” but I have been stepping into that role long before joining the SOJC. As a leader, I have always created the connective tissue of a team and encouraged positive, knowledgeable communication among my peers. Like an account manager, I exhibit an eagerness to learn, get organized quickly, and make the most of my time and resources. I want to push my peers to tell stories that matter and make innovative content by being a natural manager, a vibrant performer, and a community-builder.
Ben Blauer (Account Manager)
I believe in hard work and thorough communication. Mistakes help us grow but do not define who we are. My skills are organization, communication, leadership, and problem solving.
Whitney Calvin (Account Manager, Project Manager & Producer)
Hey! I’m Whitney…thinker, empath, curious, problem solver, “get the job done-er”, organizer, leader and a “say yes-er.” Also an Oregonian, Portland-native, lover of the outdoors, concert-goer, photographer, traveler, roadtripper, climate activist, Spanish speaker, list-maker and a HUGE fan of color-coded calendars. I believe that advertising has the power to truly create positive change, it just requires a curious team with drive and compassion. I am constantly driven by the creativity of others and passionate about finding creative solutions to help our ever-changing world in an environmentally responsible way.
Lauren Clements (Account Manager & Art Director)
Hi i’m Lauren! I am very interested in all aspects of design, but am particularly passionate about working in art direction or brand management.
Maddie Conlu (Account Manager & Strategist)
Hi! I’m Maddie and I am interested in account planning and brand strategy. I am inspired by the power that sports and athletes have to connect people and inspire change through storytelling.
Nik Cramblit (Account Manager)
I’m a curious guy with a love for the big picture and an obsession for the small details. I’m a quick learner but also a proficient one, and I constantly seek new things and new ideas through my work and engaging with others. I believe in a great many things, but my greatest insight is: Hurting people, hurt people. We spend a great deal of time licking our wounds and mending, but very little in helping others heal.
Ellie Grenfell (Account Manager & Media Planner)
I believe in always searching for opportunities to grow. I think that you learn best when helping teach others and the most important skill to have is accountability. I have always pushed myself to commit to any opportunity I might have 110%. This way I know that even if I didn’t always enjoy it, I walked away learning something new. I pride myself on being someone that anyone can come to with questions and love making sure everyone in the room is being heard. I have a niche for figuring out how people tick and where they might be most helpful when working on projects. I love making connections wherever I go and learning about peoples passions. I have a skill for shaping big, crazy, jumbled ideas into a few sentences and most recently worked to create a killer media plan for ad team.
Frances Foody (Account Manager & Designer)
My unconventional academic focus has given me a rare combination of skills. My concentrations range from account management and creative project production, to coding and computer programming languages. My previous professional roles have given me experience with communication techniques, relationship cultivation, metric tracking, and data analytics in fast-paced, ever changing environments.
Kelly Gitre (Account Manager, Strategist & Media Planner)
My friend’s describe me as driven, energetic, positive, and always “bopping around”. I am enthusiastic about the people and world around me. A uniter amongst friends, family, coworkers, and classmates, I believe the best work comes from happy people. I am a learner and value every second I get to spend as a student. I aspire to help companies construct and amplify their market presence, bridging brands and consumers.
Gracie Goodenough (Account Manager & Art Director)
Hey! I’m Gracie Goodenough, I’m a senior at the University of Oregon and a proud LA-native. I am passionate about using advertising as a way to connect companies with individuals in an authentic, creative way. I love all things food, sunny weather, and good people. I have background in hospitality marketing, creative strategy, and graphic design. I am looking forward to finding the next step in my career!
Adriana Hagey (Account Manager & Strategist)
As a junior now in the SOJC, I really would like to get involved in any way that I can. My skills in project and account management were developed through classes and experience through my internship in those roles. I also believe I have become a strategist and that field within the advertising industry is what I find most appealing. I enjoy all aspects of creativity and really want to keep practicing those skills to excel. I think how I am interesting is the direct use of how I want to demonstrate what I have learned in college and applying it to my future career. I want to genuinely make a difference in how we, as a global unit, are handling the issue of climate change. With my major in advertising and a minor in Environmental Studies and Public Policy Planning and Management, I am working on understanding the environment, how to tell a story, and how to then implement change. My goal is to take my passion and learn how to put it into practice.
Liz Hastings (Account Manager & Social Media Strategist)
I pride myself on my ability to connect with others and the world around me. Even in trying times that we are in now, I am motivated to continue my educational journey that will lead me to success in the professional world. My skills based upon past and present experiences mainly include social media strategy, brand strategy, and marketing. This past summer during my internship, I worked with various clients and on creative team, carrying out clients needs and thus executing deliverables on the creative side. I also worked in production as an active member of the creative direction for both photo and video shoots. I am interested in a career that will build upon the foundation of the skills and experiences I have gained, specifically working with both clients and a creative team in the area of account management and production.
Devon Houston (Account Manager)
I’m a third year student in the program interested in client relations, managing projects/budgets, and one day I want to go into recruiting. I’m a women and gender studies double major and I am really interested in intersectionality and value agencies who take big steps to diversify their agency.
Stella Kalomiris (Account Manager & Producer)
Hi! My name is Stella Kalomiris and some of my skills include making people laugh unintentionally, riding a stationary bike while motivating/instructing an audience, and crossing things off my to-do list. My leadership style is a combination of pacesetting and coaching style. That being said, I love to lead by example and I always see the potential of each individual in a group. I’m an interesting person that smiles more than most, and manages to get many different at once while still meeting deadlines. I thrive in a team setting. I believe that every person in a team needs to be contributing in order to make amazing things. I also believe that forming a bond with each individual within a team is one of the keys to success. I believe in quotes and books that get your imagination working. I’m very attentive, almost to the point where I annoy myself. I’m an early riser AND a night owl, which is a dangerous duo. Overall, I’m a very positive person who can calm the nerves of others in difficult situations. I feel my talents and skills reflect who I am in the workforce, but also reflect how I am with family and friends in my daily life.
Sam Lax (Account Manager)
I am a creative yet analytic thinker with attention to detail. I am a good listener who is largely empathetic in my work and personal life. I like to remain curious each and every day in order to learn and soak in as much information as possible to grow as a young professional.
Nicole Lee (Account Manager)
I am a fifth-generation Chinese American driven by culture, fashion, and people. I am interested in the diversity and inclusion issues that revolve around the advertising industry.
Whitney Marks (Account Manager & Media Planner)
I’m invested in group dynamics and being the leader that will highlight everyone’s strengths. I strive to find the balance in anything I do. I’m passionate about brand responsibility, sustainability and the human experience. Aspiring to use my constant curiosity, tactful planning and out of the box thinking to create meaningful work within the industry.
Ramsey Sullivan (Account Manager)
I am a brand management student that has some experience in strategy and production. I believe that the best thing a brand manager can do is be empathetic and organized, which I have tried to exemplify in my work. Over communication is key and being a support system for the entire team.
