I’m a researcher, musician, reader, and unapologetically proud New Yorker. I love creating and testing questions about the world. When I’m not trying to understand how and why people lie, I’m writing songs or thinking about what went wrong with New York Giants.

EXPERTISE:

I study the psychology of language, primarily how people lie.

I use computational and experimental approaches to understand a range of communication behaviors, from deception to dehumanization.

As a contributor at Forbes, my public scholarship argues we need to be better at holding our public officials accountable for honesty.

WORDS OF WISDOM:

“Life is not about finding our limitations, it’s about finding our infinity.” — Herbie Hancock
