Reflections:
I really liked this assignment because I like food. Before I have never thought about food can be evaluated as art work. This assignment helped me to examine method for evaluating whether food can be art, and to understand cultural differences would influence the production and consumption of food. Here, I’d like to share a TV series about “A Bite of China“. There are seven episodes of this series. China is a country that has a long history in culinary traditions, and this TV series deliver the traditional Chinese food in different areas in China. ” A Bite of China” starts off its journey with a introduction into the diversity of Chinese landscapes and how the cultural background has huge impact on food cultures in different regions. “A Bite of China” tells stories not only focus on food but also focus on the regional cultures, where people have grown up and their perceptions about their food. This series cover 60 locations throughout China.
Future goals:
I will keep looking into deeply about the food artworks. I would like to discuss with people from different places around world, share ideas with them and to learn and to experience new food culture. I hope one day I could travel around the world, live in a different places to taste and to feel the real food culture in that place.
