Reflections:
I really liked this assignment because it leaves a lot of space to think freely. I do believe everyone cares about his or her appearances to other people. A person’s appearance is really important because it leave other people the first impression of this person. Even though the physical appearance is very essential for others to identify a person, it is wrong to judge or comment on a person only based on his or her physical appearance. We should show respect and pay attention whether our behavior of judging a person from only the appearance would touch the nerve, he or she would feel uncomfortable about it.
During this assignment, I observed three individuals to see how their dress and body decoration reflect different personalities. When I was asked to observe people’s adornment, I thought about myself because I remember the day that I got my ear pierced for the very first time. My parents have an old thought that only bad girls will have their ear pierced or have tattoos on their bodies. But I have seen many people have tattoos or ear piercing, and it is common to get all of them. This is where I come to believe that different cultural background highly influenced the way in which people dress or decorate themselves.
Future goals:
I like to get a tiny tattoo on the back of my neck. But this is probably just a thought, because if I am going to take this seriously, I think my parents will be really mad at me. I think this is because cultural differences, I spent a long time to convince my dad to allow me do have my ear pierced.
