Assignment 7 Essay
I define spirituality as a perspective to view the world in a very metaphorical, quasi-religious way. Spirituality is mysterious, and one could not just study spirituality and could only cultivate spirituality through life experiences. I think that spirituality is a psychological status of being very cautious about what one’s state of mind is. Spirituality is also the status of being very conscious and thinks a lot about deep questions such as ethnic and morality. Spirituality is something that is ineffable yet profound.
Spirituality is more like a personal statement, religion is part of an identity. One could be spiritual without believing in a certain religion. One could be religious yet not achieving spirituality. I think that spirituality is different from religion because spiritual is more of a personal behavior and consciousness level while being religious is more of belonging to a certain group and agree to certain social contracts built by the religious community. Religious is more of a group identification while spirituality is a personal process.
Creativity is the ability to use imagination to create things. Creativity is to have unlimited sources of thinking out of the sources and to be able to turn those ideas into a reality and use those ideas to help people. I think that creativity is also to not be limited by the social orders and what other people think. Creativity is also applies to the ability to communicate and solve problems effectively, and to become a positivistic person.
The sources of creativity could be very diverse. For example, some people might argue that creativity is embedded in one’s gene and some people are born to be more creative than others. However, I think that creativity has a lot to do with the later education one receives. I think that people who have received art educations and given more freedom when they are growing up are generally more creative. I think that creativity is cultivated from a lot of different sources and is not limited to a single aspect.
