My name is Jingding Wang (王敬鼎), I am a transfer student for China and I graduated from AEI last year. My major is Economics. I am from Henan of China, the central part of China. Before I came to the United States, I thought that I would be very simple and explain to others where I came from, because Henan has Shaolin Temple and Tai Chi, I think Chinese Kuang Fu is very famous in the world, but when I came to the United States, I found that not everyone knows the birthplace of Chinese Kuang Fu.
The reason why I chose this class was that I studied at AEI and met a lot of exchange students from Japan. I heard a lot of interesting things from Japan and some different places about China and Japan, as well as some similar places, so I want to learn more about East Asian culture through this class.
I like playing basketball and working with my friends at the gym, I like spending a day in the gym when I am free because I can fully relax in the basketball court.
I am confused about why there are similar words between China and Japan before taking this class. Even if I have not studied Japanese, I still can understand a little bit. I like the teaching method of this course so far. About myself, I usually read the book before class, but it might just be a general read. This class changes my learning method because the quizzes before class will check if I read the book carefully or not. I think this is a good way to check my preview.
