Welcome To Making It @ UofO

We’re here to discuss facility design and management to meet the needs of traditional and digital fabrication technologies for both artists and designers. New 3D technologies are challenging concepts of what a fabrication shop should be.

  • Is it a place to teach people to become proficient with these technologies?
  • Should it be a facilitator for realizing advanced art and design?
  • Is it a place to explore what the possibilities of technology enhanced art and design can produce?
  • How about a place that would allow someone to experiment, to see what new directions technology can take art and design?

Or should it be all of these things?

Well that’s what we would like to discover. To imagine a place for artists and designers that would be like a stadium or concert hall. To allow them to reach their highest potential and showcase those accomplishments to the world.
