The Department of Chemistry, at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks outstanding applicants for tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of chemistry, including analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and theoretical/computational chemistry, as well as chemical biology, environmental chemistry, materials chemistry, polymer chemistry, and proteomics. We are especially interested in candidates with research interests in synthetic chemistry, including interdisciplinary areas that use and/or apply synthetic chemistry in unique ways. Both junior and senior candidates are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants should have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of research accomplishments, an innovative future research plan, and be capable of achieving teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Chemistry offers a stimulating environment that supports cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, including a 177,000 square foot chemistry research building on the University Park campus, excellent shared instrumentation facilities, and close interactions with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, the Materials Research Institute, the Institutes of Energy and the Environment, and the Institute for Cyber Science.
