The workshop facilitators are experienced professionals in human resources, leadership training, teaching, and higher education administration. These workshops provide professional training for women in technical fields as well as to provide a forum for networking with other women in science and engineering.

A stage director, award-winning actor, and nationally recognized theater educator, Nancy Houfek www.nancyhoufek.com presents workshops combining communication, negotiation and leadership techniques for corporations, think tanks, universities, and professional organizations worldwide. At Harvard, where she was Head of Voice & Speech for the Tony Award winning American Repertory Theaterfrom 1997- 2014, Nancy also taught in programs at the Kennedy School of Government, the Harvard School of Public Health, and the Derek Bok Center for Teaching & Learning. Nancy continues her work there with the Radcliffe Fellows, the Harvard/Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and the Graduate School of Design. She has been a facilitator for COACh since 1999, a part of leadership training for the Tobias Fellows at Indiana University’s Center for Leadership since 2011, anda presenter for the Science Leadership Program at the University of Toronto since 2013. A film of her work with Harvard faculty produced by the Bok Center,The Act of Teaching, has been distributed to faculty development centers nationwide.
Nancy holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.F.A. from San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater, where she remained as an actor, director, and coach for nearly a decade. She has also held faculty or guest positions at the University of Washington, the Drama Studio of London, Southern Methodist University, and the University of Minnesota. Nancy received seven consecutive awards for excellence in teaching from Harvard University. Nancy’s performance career spanned several decades in theaters from New York to California. Publications include articles in Voice & Speech Training in the New Millennium: Conversations with Master Teachersby Nancy Saklad, The New England Theater Journal, The Voice & Speech Review, The Complete Voice and Speech Workoutand the VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainer’s Association) News.

Geraldine Richmond is the Presidential Chair and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oregon. Her research using laser spectroscopy and computational methods has made 
many contributions to our understanding of the chemistry and physics that occurs at complex surfaces and interfaces that have relevance to important problems. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in energy production, environmental remediation, atmospheric chemistry and biomolecular surfaces and “Awards” for her scientific accomplishments include the American Chemical Society (ACS) Garvan Medal, the Spectrochemical Analysis Award of the American Chemical Society, the Spiers Medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Guggenheim Fellow , the Bomem-Michaelson Award, and the ACS Joel Henry Hildebrand Award in the Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry of Liquids.
She is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the American Chemical Society, the American Association of the Advancement of Science, the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, and the Association for Women in Science. the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. She is the founder and chair of COACh, a grass-roots organization assisting in the advancement of women faculty in science and engineering. She has been honored for these efforts by the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Engineering Mentoring, the ACS Award for Encouraging Women in the Chemical Sciences and the Council on Chemical Research Diversity Award.

Sandra (Sandy) Shullman, Ph.D. has had a distinguished career working with senior executives and executive teams in a wide range of national and multi-national organizations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, BP, Deutsche Bank, Lafarge, Siemens, UBS, Nationwide, BankOneChase, and Ingersoll Rand.
In addition to over fifteen years of executive leadership of an organizational and behavioral healthcare firm, Dr. Shullman served as Director of Managerial Effectiveness Programs at the Center for Creative Leadership, where she led major projects involving performance management and executive and managerial effectiveness.
She is currently Managing Partner of the Columbus office of the Executive Development Group, an international leadership development and consulting firm, with offices in Greensboro, North Carolina, Atlanta, and Columbus, Ohio. In this role, she directs large scale executive coaching, executive education and development projects for national and multinational client organizations. She also works individually as an executive coach with senior executives, especially in the financial services, high technology/scientific, and healthcare areas.
She has degrees from Dickinson College, Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology with organizational emphasis from The Ohio State University. She was awarded a fellowship at the Center for Creative Leadership and was a Kathryn Sisson Phillips fellow of the National Association for Women Deans, Administrators and Counselors.

Ernestine T. Taylor worked more than 20 years at the executive level in human resources and organizational development with fortune 500 companies such as Ortho-McNeil 
Pharmaceutical (Johnson & Johnson), Avon Products Company, Inc. Continental Can and Ford Foundation. She has taught management and business communications courses at Elon University, Bennett College for Women and several community colleges in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
In 2002, Ernestine established ETConsulting with a focus on executive coaching and leadership development. As an independent consultant, she is a facilitator and executive coach for healthcare organizations, aerospace, energy and governmental agencies. She is also adjunct faculty and certified coach at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC.
Ernestine holds a M.A. (With Distinction) in Industrial Psychology from Columbia University (New York); an Advanced Management Certificate from Northwestern University (Kellogg School of Business) and B.S. in Business Administration from Texas Southern University.

Jane Tucker has over twenty-five years of experience in higher education in both the administrative and teaching areas. She has taught negotiation skills in the Fuqua School of 
Business at Duke and is currently a consultant educator for COACh through the National Science Foundation. She has also taught ADVANCE program seminars in negotiations and is adjunct faculty for the Center for Creative Leadership, where she works with leaders from both non-profit organizations and corporations.
She taught leadership skills and communication strategies to administrators in the university. She is currently Principal of Jane Tucker & Associates, specializing in negotiation, leadership skills, and executive coaching.
Dr. Tucker holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Development from the University of North Carolina and is an alumna of Wellesley College. She has published papers on learning strategies and organizational development. Her current research interest is focused on early adopters in change processes.

Lee Warren is Associate Director Emerita of the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard University and Director Emerita of Professional Pedagogy at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has taught leadership courses in the Executive Education Program at the Kennedy School, created cross-Harvard faculty teaching seminars, and provided teaching consultation to faculty. She is the founder and was for ten years the Executive Director of the Bok Players, an interactive theater troupe focused on addressing discrimination, relationships, and fairness in the academic workplace.
With Nancy Houfek, she consults at universities and conferences around the country, with a focus on Leadership, Strategic Performance, and Powerful Presentations.
With a BA in Philosophy from Wellesley and a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Stanford, she has taught at UMass/Boston and MIT. Dr. Warren was the Academic Dean of Merrimack Valley College, part of the University system of New Hampshire. She has worked as a writing consultant on social issues for numerous private, state, and non-profit organizations in the Boston Area. She has published numerous articles on teaching and learning, race, gender, class, case teaching, and leadership, and has co-produced several videotapes used internationally.
