The Women’s Center will reconvene our annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Toiletry Drive for October, 2023. We will be collecting toiletries and personal products to support survivors of dating and domestic violence as they transition to new lives. All donations will go directly to Hope & Safety Alliance (formerly Womenspace), and HIV Alliance.

FACTS ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
- 45% of Black women experience intimate partner violence (IPV) in their lifetimes, and are 3 times more likely to die of IPV than White women.
- More than 54% of transgender and non-binary people experience some form of IPV.
- 97% of American Indian and Alaska Native women who have experienced violence have had at least one act of violence by a non-native.
- Bisexual women are 2.6 times more likely to report having experienced IPV sexual violence compared to heterosexual women.
- 1 in 4 women experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking in their lifetime.
- 1 in 10 men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking in their lifetime.
